What is 2,4-D Choline?

Newer, modern 2,4-D products – such as 2,4-D choline – undergo the same rigorous safety review process as traditional 2,4-D and can be used without harming neighboring crops.  They stay where they are sprayed and break down quickly.

In technical terms, 2,4-D choline has near-zero volatility and greatly reduced potential for drift, which means they can be used without damaging surrounding crops or other areas when used as intended.  After doing their job, these formulations break down quickly and dissipate, without lingering or building up in the environment.

This makes them a leading choice for effective and neighbor-friendly control of farmers’ toughest weeds.

While these products are simpler to use and offer more flexibility than other such products, good stewardship is equally important. Leading pesticide companies work with farmers and customers to promote good stewardship practices and ensure farmers have the tools they need – such as educational webinars, self-paced training materials and in-person training – to apply the product properly.

Not using a pesticide according to its label is illegal and can result in federal and state fines.
