New Delhi, India, June 26, 2018 – In an endeavor to drive progress through sustainability, Corteva Agriscience™ hosted product stewardship days across 13 Asia Pacific countries in June.
Product stewardship is a life cycle approach to product management. It is a responsible way to manage agriculture products, both crop protection and seed, from their discovery and development stage to their effective usage and eventual discontinuation.
Coinciding with the World Environment Day, the platform provides an opportunity to demonstrate the company’s approach to stewardship. This annual event was started five years ago and is a best practice across the Asia Pacific region.
KV Subbarao, South Asia leader, Corteva Agriscience™ said, “Product stewardship day reinforces our commitment towards environment sustainability. It showcases the safe and responsible use of products to our stakeholders such as farmers, trade channel partners and other key influencers as well as encouraging them to practice good product stewardship.
“As we work to enrich the lives of those who produce and those who consume, good stewardship plays a key role towards fulfilling our vision.”
On this occasion, stakeholders at all levels were invited to engage in simple and creative activities to promote six key stewardship principles: proper use of personal protective equipment(PPE), integrated pest management(IPM), product label awareness, pest resistance management, proper disposal of used containers and awareness of counterfeit products.
