BlueN provides an alternative source of nitrogen that reduces dependency of nitrogen uptake from the soil and ensures the plant has access to nitrogen all season long.
When applied on top of the normal nitrogen regime in a potato crop, BlueN will:
- produce the average yield increase of 3.3t/ha in over 80% of crops
- produce the overall average yield increase of 2.5t/ha
In sugar beet trials where the nitrogen regime was being managed at an economic optimum of 75kg N/ha:
- 64% of trials where BlueN was applied gave a positive yield response of 5t/ha
- the overall yield response in trials was 1.9t/ha
In an independent UK trial last year, the addition of BlueN to the standard farm fertilizer programme gave 6.6t yield increase compared to the standard programme.
