Technical Specifications

  • Active Ingredient

Potassium salt of 2-pyridine carboxylic acid, 4-amino-3,6-dichloro-; metsulfuron methyl

  • Application Rate

2 to 3.3 ounces per acre

  • Application Timing

Chaparral herbicide may be applied postemergence as a broadcast spray or as a spot application to control weeds and brush. Treat when weeds are actively growing and not stressed by drought or other conditions. Increase the herbicide rate within the labeled rate range as the season progresses and plants become more mature.

  • Application Method

Aerial broadcast. Ground broadcast. Spot treatment. Apply the specified rate of Chaparral as a coarse low-pressure spray. Do not apply this product with mist blower systems that deliver very fine spray droplets. Spray volume should be sufficient to uniformly cover foliage. Increase spray volume to ensure thorough and uniform coverage when target vegetation is tall and/or dense.

Chaparral provides effective control

Data shows that Chaparral controlled horsenettle at rates near 100 percent at the highest labeled rate.

Applications were made in the early summer, and plots were evaluated at three to five weeks after application.

By eliminating weeds and brush from range and pasture land, grass is given more of a chance to thrive, resulting in greater forage production.
