How TwinGuard Works

TwinGuard contains two novel active ingredients, Jemvelva® and Isoclast®, which control insect pests through both contact and ingestion activity. Both active ingredients are highly selective to their target pests. Jemvelva has excellent efficacy on springtails, leaf miner and lepidoptera species (diamondback moth, white butterfly caterpillar and looper caterpillars). Isoclast has excellent efficacy on aphids. Combined as TwinGuard, Jemvelva and Isoclast actives provide robust control of Nysius.

Mode of Action

Group 4C + 5
In insects, the mode of action is associated with excitation of the nervous system, which causes paralysis, followed by death.
Contact and ingestion activity.
Translaminar and systemic movement within plant.

IPM Compatible

TwinGuard has a low environmental impact and is safer to key beneficial insects such as lacewings, predatory bugs (Damsel bug), predatory beetles (Staphylinids) and spiders, than OP and SP insecticides.

Resistance Management

Both active ingredients in TwinGuard have distinct modes of action, with no known cross-resistance to alternate modesof action, making TwinGuard a sound resistance management option.

Crops

TwinGuard is crop safe for forage brassica species as per the application rates, spray volumes, and forage brassica growth stages listed on the label.

Mode of Action

Isoclast is active against target pests by direct contact and ingestion activity. In plants, it moves systemically upwards and outwards via the xylem to provide protection to young, fast growing plants where new growth is particularly prone to aphid attack.

Jemvelva is active against target pests by direct contact and ingestion activity. In plants, it is locally systemic, meaning it has translaminar movement and can move from the upper to underside of the leaf. Jemvelva provides ovi-larvicidal activity controlling insects as they emerge from eggs.

In insects, the mode of action of both Isoclast and Jemvelva is associated with excitation of the nervous system, which causes paralysis, followed by death.
